The process of starting a cold shower is:
- Start with hot shower:
If you are new to this, you need to make sure that you start your shower with hot or warm water and stay under it for some time and let your body get comfortable and easy.
- Turn on cold water:
Now that you have turned on cold water, sprinkle some of it on your foot and then up your legs and gradually take it to the shoulders. Your body will adjust to the cold water shock if you take it slowly.
- Let the heat protection begin:
When you have gradually taken cold water to your shoulders and on your entire body, you need to stay under it for 10-15 seconds. You may again go the hot shower for a few seconds. You have to be careful about increasing the time by 5-10 seconds every-time you switch to cold water. This way when you will be able to stand under cold water for one minute, your thermal insulation will begin which will keep your body warm.
- End with cold water:
You can either switch to cold water at once or have contrasting shower as explained above. But either way you have to end your shower with cold water so that your body hardens against the cold.
- Try cold baths:
After you get used to the cold showers, try to take cold water baths to harden your body and make it resistant to the environmental and temperature changes.
